Exercising “Management by Exception” (MBE) is a nice way of saying that the leader concentrates too much on what is going wrong. This blows problems out of proportion, and at its worst, produces manufactured crises.
MBE led teams feel that their accomplishments are discounted or overlooked. This results in frustration, discontentment, and poor team unity.
Be a better boss by concentrating on the good; be sure your positive feedback greatly outweighs the negative. Issues must be discussed of course, but never forget - Honey is better than vinegar!
